Elder Shields in Carlsbad, CA

Hey everyone!  Awesome week this week.  We had some good progress with April and Juno they are still looking good for their date on Feb 16. Love them so much they are awesome!! Chris is struggling with the Word of Wisdom but we think he will he able to quit coffee.  We got to make a video this week for zone conference. We did some role plays to show missionaries how to best put people on date for baptism. It was super fun. It was us, the assistants and the zone leaders in the Carlsbad stake. I will send it out when it is finished all the way.  We played ultimate frisbee for Pday today and it was sick! Got super bad turf burn diving for stuff but haha oh well.  Not much else love you all! Hey everyone what is up? This week was a super awesome week! We had a zone welcome meeting to start it off to get the new zone introduced to each other. We also introduced our theme as a zone which is being one in Christ. Unity was something we spoke a lot on. We used a section from the talk One in Christ from the past conference by Elder Soares. We were able to find a few new people to teach this week! Jose and Adella is a couple with young kids we started teaching and April and Chris is another couple. April and Chris have a daughter named Juno who is about 10 who we are teaching with them. April has a lot of family that are members and has taken lessons in the past before and has come close to baptism but has never made it. We have been trying to get in contact with her for a while and we finally were able to! She has a really strong desire to be baptized and also for the rest her family to be as well! April and Juno came to church but Chris couldn't because if work unfortun...

Hi everyone!!  So I found out that Elder Norman will be getting transferred to Murrieta and my new companion will be Elder Medina! I am excited I know Elder Medina and he is a great guy and an awesome missionary. I am excited!  We got to give a blessing to Tanya this week which was super awesome she loved it! We had a few solid lessons with them but Jason is still not progressing very well.  Me and Elder Norman got sick this week so that wasn't very fun. Heyy!  This week was pretty sweet!  We had a mission conference with Elder Pearson of the Seventy and it was super awesome!! We also got to have him join our MLC which was on the same day and he shared some amazing things there too. He talked on many things but one that stuck out to me was the what he shared on unity. We need to be aligned with Christ in order to demonstrate His attributes and to share his light. But if we aren't even able to be aligned with our companion we really can't be aligned with Christ. He invited us all to be more united with our companions and then with Jesus. Me and Elder Norman get along fine so I wasn't to worried about that haha.  Unfortunately Lukas got some cold feet and said he wanted to take a break from the lessons. We haven't totally lost touch with him, but it might be a least a month before he starts meeting with us again.  For Pday we are going over to a member in our wards house to play pickleball and ping pong and stu...

Hello!  Christmas was super awesome!! Lots of fun to talk to the family! Love all of them!!  We had a pretty good week. Found a few new people to teach. One was Lukas. He is a referral from a member in the ward who is going to BYU right now. We taught him this morning actually for the first time. He has been to church twice already but we never got a chance to teach him until now. He was really prepared and loved the Plan of Salvation lesson. He accepted a baptismal date for the 12th of January!  Maria was someone we found tracting and she is super awesome! She doesn't know much about God but she has a desire to learn so that she can teach her kids as they grow up.  Not much progress with anyone else :(  We are having an all day Pday today for New Years Eve and we will be playing games and doing a devotional together as a zone. We loved our Christmas call with Elder Shields!  Just so fun hear him talk about his mission and his testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  We loved catching up and just being linked together in various ways as a family if only for one hour.   We couldn't love, or miss him more!!! Hi, this is Sister Geyer and I am in the Fallbrook 2nd Ward.  We have a tradition in our family where we invite the missionaries and friends  and family for breakfast to celebrate the new year coming.  This year we were lucky to have this great group.  I wanted to share with their families. Merry Christmas Everyone!!  Don't have much to say this week other than we had a mission wide talent show and devotional! I played a piano solo and accompanied an Elder singing Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. It was awesome. We also had interviews this week.  Love you all, talk to you tomorrow!
