Elder Shields in Carlsbad, CA

Hey guys what is upp?  This week was pretty legendary if I do say so myself.  We had zone conference this week which was super awesome! It was mostly focused on working with the members of our wards and contacting everyone we see. I had a really good time! It was super inspired and really productive.  We had a good lessons with the Yabuts this week. They told us that they don't want to rush into the baptism but they still do want to do it. We are almost done with the lessons so we'll see how long not rushing is haha.  Funny story: we were stopping by one of our investigators, Luisa. And right when she opened the door she said this "oh my gosh we were literally just about to drop some acid." You could probably imagine how me a Phillips reacted. The funnier part is that she still let us in and we got a chance to talk to her about changing from her ways and following the ways of God. Helloo.   This week was a pretty good week! It started out really well. We had a lesson with the Seols and they have decided to get baptized!! The date will be June 23rd. We have been working with them for a while now and the fact that they have decided to make the commitment to be baptized is such a miracle for me and Elder Phillips.   We picked up some really cool investigators this week. The one we are the most excited about is named Omega. He was a former investigator who just called out to us out of nowhere and told us to come talk to him. He told us that he used to investigate and isn't done with his journey, so we will start teachi g yin again! The others are Steve and Eric. Eric isn't too solid, we are pretty sure he was high when we contacted him but he is pretty open. Steve has some good potential. I don't know if I've already mentioned him because we've been trying to pick him up for a while now, but he finally let us in! He's a super awesome guy ...

Hey Everyone Happy Mothers Day!   Make sure you are extra nice to your mommies this week!  This week was pretty dang good! The Seols, the Yabuts and Rashida all came to church and are all progressing really well! Rashida is on date for June 30th and the Yabuts will get baptized in the next two or three weeks!  We had a good talk with Brian Seol on Sunday at church. He told us that he is ready to get baptized and is done being in the in-between state. He just wants to put a date to the baptism so he knows what they are working for so they can get it done! He is such a blessing to their family with the amount of faith he shows! Hey everyone hope your week was solid! My week was pretty good!  Tammy and Brian and their kids were at church again. They are getting really close to baptism just need a little longer! Hopefully we will have a date sometime in the next week or so!  Yabuts are doing well too! We are looking at a baptism hopefully on the 19th! Might have to get pushed back but we'll see!  We got the transfer doctrine and me and Elder Phillips will be staying in Oceanside 2nd ward! We were really excited to be staying together we are hoping for a lot of good things this transfer!  Found some pretty awesome investigators this week. One we found tracting and she was the very first door we knocked on! Her name is Luisa and she is way cool. The other is a former investigator we picked up named Steve Searl, he was on date to get baptized at one point but dropped off. He just got back from his mom's, she passed away a few weeks ago. Which is sad but it did open him up again to the go...

This week was super awesome!!   Felix from back in French Valley got baptized! It was super awesome to be a part in his conversion process, he totally did a 180 flip from when we had first met him, he is such an awesome person! Unfortunately I was not able to attend the baptism because I had only taught him the first two lessons and to attend a baptism out of the zone you had to be a part of 3 or more of them. But that is okay, he still receives eternal blessings with or without me!!   We had a solid lesson with Tammy and Brian and their son Carson. Brian expressed to us that he really doesn't have any more concerns and is ready to go. Tammy still has some concerns that need to be resolved, most of them about the priesthood, we did our best to resolve them at the lesson, but she said she just needs a little more time to work through them.   Our lesson with the Yabuts didn't happen this week because they had a death in the family, so we haven't been...

Hello family!  This week was super awesome we were able to go to the temple and go to through an endowment session. I freaking love the temple and every time we get to go is precious. Really learn to appreciate it out here.  Had a super solid exchange with my DL Elder Lundquist. It wasn't very solid for him. So we were just done tracting an area and he said he knew of a good place for us to go ride out bikes, it was this little dirt patch of to the side of of the road with jumps. So we started riding around it and not five minutes later Lundquist wrecks his bike super bad and jams his wrist. So he spent the rest of the day in a lot of pain, but it was kinda funny to watch him crash haha.  We started teaching the Yabut twins this week. Their names are Leland and Natalie. They are doing super well and will probably get baptized on May 12th.  Tammy and Brian are doing awesome. They had a chance to go to a child of record baptism on Saturday and they really enjoy...

Hey family what's up?!  So this week was pretty bomb! First and probs best thing is we found this super solid part member family! Their names are the Yabuts. They have two kids who aren't baptized and when we went over there they pretty much asked us to baptize their kids. They want them to be baptized at the beginning of May so we will probably set the date for May 4th, possibly a little later tho.  We also found two other investigators named Manny and Joshua. Joshua is pretty solid but Manny not so much. But we are happy to teach both of them!  Had a super solid exchange with Elder Meyer this week. We had a good time catching up, worked super hard and took some really cool pics so ya, solid.  This week we had a competition to see who could pass out the most Book of Mormons in the zone, me and Elder Phillips were able to pass out 20 in one week! We were super stoked for that and we think we won, no sure yet but I will let you know.  Other investigator...
